Born in 1973 in Hannover, Germany, Dennis Gansel studied at the Munich Film School HFF. Remarkably, his first feature film, Das Phantom (2000) was shot while he was still studying. Between his movies, Girls on Top (2001), Before the Fall (2004) and The Wave (2008) he spent a long time struggling to produce his films. During this period he directed many television commercials. Dennis lives in Berlin with his lovely wife.
